Barbara C. Chua

Barbara C. Chua brings 30+ years of legal and accounting experience to clients of the Wolin Law Group. Barbara worked for Zabel Law, LLC and its predecessor, Jay Zabel & Associates, Ltd., assisting clients with tax preparation and planning, estate planning, and probate. Barbara concentrates on business tax preparation, including partnership, s-corporation, and corporate income tax returns, payroll tax return preparation, sales tax return preparation, fiduciary income tax return preparation for estates and trusts, individual income tax return preparation, gift tax return preparation, and estate tax return preparation. Barbara also assists clients with analyzing accounting data and financial reporting, prepares estate planning documents, and administers non-contested probate estates.

Barbara is a collegiate academic scholarship recipient who graduated with high honors in February 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the Strobel Accountancy Honors Program at DePaul University College of Commerce, now known as DePaul University Driehaus College of Business. Barbara passed the May 1991 Illinois Certified Public Accountants Exam, then worked for two years as an accountant before deciding to continue her studies at DePaul University College of Law. Barbara received the 1994 Samuel and Dorothy Sweig Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, was awarded an American Jurisprudence Award in Legal Writing II, was a member of the Research Staff of the DePaul University Business Law Journal, and worked as a research assistant and as an income tax return preparer prior to earning her Juris Doctor in June 1996, passing the July 1996 Illinois Bar Exam, and receiving her Admission to the Bar in the State of Illinois in November 1996.

In addition to being licensed to practice law in Illinois, Barbara is a Registered Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.
